We’re a pretty varied group here at Surf Your Name, but if there’s one thing we all have in common, it’s that we all love animals! That said, it made a lot of sense for us to get excited when the wonderful ladies at Doggie Bliss approached us about a redesign of their website.
Doggie Bliss is a lovely dog-walking and pet-sitting business based in Southern California. They have lots of loyal clients who adore them, and lots of pup friends who love them just as much! They embody the cool California vibe and we were excited to make that happen for them.
They wanted a design that evoked a feeling of “bliss”. After all, that’s what the happy pups they look after feel while in their care! So we went with a light and airy palette of white and blue, with a hint of soft grey color and some textured sand. Doggie Bliss serves the Santa Monica/Los Angeles, California area, and it was important to them that the site had a very California-cool kind of vibe to it. So we found a video of a puppy playing on a beach for the home page to add those chilled, beachy vibes to keep the mood going.
On the home page, we have a few really cool design features, one being the series of 4 hover boxes that link to their respective services page. These add a lot of visual interest and movement without being too overwhelming or cheesy. We also have a reel of Doggie Bliss’ Instagram feed so there are always some cute new faces to look at. One of the nicest features on this page is the Yelp and Google Business reviews area, where potential customers can see all the company’s reviews at their fingertips.
We’ve also added a really helpful feature with a Google Maps integration, where the exact area that Doggie Bliss services is outlined. The map can be manipulated with zoom and scroll functions just like any other Google Map, making it easy for customers to see if they’re within the service area.
One of the most impressive features of the Doggie Bliss redesign is the introduction of dynamic and conditional forms. Their new client sign up has many different options where, when choosing, new options will appear depending on the choices made. This makes it easier for them to gather information about new clients and makes the form appear shorter on the front end since not every question is immediately appearing at once.
